As a songwriter, my overarching artistic aim is to write well-crafted and moving songs that connect to a wide audience, transcend the confines of genre and are able to stand the test of time. I am interested in exploring a range of topics in the quest to make sense of the world we currently inhabit, and while I am not afraid to explore the darker side of our shared common experiences of living and loving in this century, the intention of my work is to perhaps make this world a little less lonely.
As a singer I enjoy performing a wide range of styles and techniques according to context, (from country, jazz and Latin to wild and strange experimental improvisation). I especially enjoy singing with others and have sung with various a cappella ensembles. I currently perform original material with my trio, Dreamboat, as well as sing with local salsa band, Son del Sur.
As voice actor, my voice has predominantly been used as a narrator for short nature documentaries, although I have also had experience with character voices for animations and advertising.
As music educator I have run music and singing workshops with various community groups, including working with women in prisons as well as people with acquired brain injury.
I currently work as a school music co-ordinator and teacher, working with children from ages 5 to 16.
